Svetlana Atlavina

Svetlana is a mixed media artist who explores the intricate interplay between the tangible and intangible facets of human existence. Her artistic journey revolves around the dynamics between caregivers and receivers, artists and viewers, all viewed through the prism of childhood memories. Armed with a Master of Arts in Printmaking, which she earned in 2019, Svetlana creates installations that meld the realms of ceramic, textile, video, and sound into captivating experiences. Her recent project is supported by Arts Council England. Svetlana sought evidence from prehistoric civilisations when both men and women paid homage to the goddess and venerated the divine feminine. She weaves a narrative that transcends the boundaries of physicality as the tiny fibres of wool permeate the air, inviting contemplation on the profound nature of care and its role in sustaining social and familial bonds.
