The ArtCan secret auction is now closed!
Congratulations and thank you to all the winning bidders who will be proud owners of original works kindly donated by our wonderful ArtCan artists!
All monies raised via the auction will be dedicated to enhancing ArtCan’s programme of exhibitions, talks and workshops throughout 2024 and will make a real difference to our ArtCan artist community.
And don’t worry if you missed out – you can still purchase amazing original works donated by our members through our online shop.
Thank you for your support!
Best wishes,
Jo Taylor

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the Auction work?
You will be able to view all of the available Auction lots via the ArtCan online shop, under the categories ‘ArtCan Auction’ and ‘Auction 2024’.
Bidding will be open from 10am (BST) on 7th May until 10pm (BST) 28th May only. There will be a maximum two-week period to complete your payments and any administration once bidding closes.
You need to create an account on our website and complete your bidding profile in order to place a bid. You can do this by selecting ‘My Account’ from the top menu on our site, selecting ‘Register’ and completing the details as prompted, including a billing and shipping address.
How do I place a bid?
Head to the listing you’re interested in and enter the amount you would like to bid, then click the ‘Bid Now’ button. You will need to be logged in and your full profile will need to be complete for the system to register your bid.
Please remember that when you’ve placed a bid, you’ve entered an agreement to pay for the item if yours is the winning bid.
How do I keep track of items I may want to bid on?
If you want to keep an eye on something, click the ‘Add to Watchlist’ button. You will need to be registered and logged in for this to work, but the item will then be available for you to track in your account, should you wish to bid at a later date.
Where can I see my live bids?
You can keep track of your bidding history in your online account under ‘My Bids’.
I won! How do I pay for my item?
Our website accepts payment by PayPal or credit card only. Please follow the on-screen instructions to proceed with payment once you have received confirmation that you have won an auction.
Please pay for your item as soon as possible after being notified of your win. Once the payment is confirmed, ArtCan will inform the artist so that they dispatch the item to you. They will endeavour to send the item within one week but this may vary a bit depending on the artist. Specific timings will be confirmed directly by the artist.
I have bid on an item, but have changed my mind. What can I do?
Once you have bid on an item, you have made an agreement that if yours is the highest bid, you will pay that amount. You do not need to enter subsequent bids if someone else bids higher than you, but if yours is the winning bid you are expected to honour that agreement. If you are not certain that you can honour your bid, please do not place it.
Please remember that ArtCan is a non-profit, and every penny you contribute means we can reach further and farther than ever before to bring our work to life. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Is there an option to buy an item outright?
Not unless bidding has ended without a buyer. All items still available after the auction has closed will be listed in our online shop at their guide price. You can access the shop here.
What happens if the winning bidder doesn’t pay?
Every buyer will have plenty of opportunity to honour their bidding commitment, however if we don’t receive payment as per our terms and conditions, these items will be re-listed in the ArtCan shop at their guide price – i.e. at a set price and postage fee and available to buy straight away.
What happens to unsold items?
Anything still available after the auction ends will be available in the ArtCan online shop, at the original guide price. You can access the shop here.
How are delivery fees handled?
These are included in the reserve price for each item, so there are no hidden costs or surprises at checkout!
Will I need to pay Customs fees?
If you order products from our platform for delivery to an International Delivery Destination, your order may be subject to import duties and taxes which are applied when the delivery reaches that destination. ArtCan is an international organisation with artists around the world, so those fees will depend on artist location and bidder location.
Please note that we have no control over these charges and we cannot predict their amount.
You will be responsible for payment of any such import duties and taxes. Please contact your local customs office for further information before placing your order.
You must comply with all applicable laws and regulations of the country for which the Products are destined. We will not be liable or responsible if you break any such law.
My item has arrived damaged, how do I arrange a return?
