Johanna Schartau is a visual artist working with photography, sculpture, film, graphic and installations. She often works with projects and themes which are close to herself and her heritage/history but also the history we all have in common. 

Johanna Schartau has shown her work at Ystads Art Museum, galleries in Sweden and abroad as Belgrade culture center, in Paris, Bonn and Tammerfors

Johanna has also made documentary films which have been broadcasted at Swedish television, at film festivals in Sweden, Poland and China and she is also working with public art. She has received several grants through the years from Swedish Arts Grants and has a MFA from University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm.
