Vibrancy

The ArtCan Hub, Angel Central
7th – 27th July 2025

ArtCan will launch a vibrant new collection of contemporary art from member artists at their new Hub in Angel Central Shopping Centre from 7th July.

Co-curated by Kate Enters, Founder of ArtCan, and Maz Weineck, the Vibrancy exhibition will include a wide spectrum of styles, mediums and topics from this exciting international group of artists.

Kate says: “After offering a moment of STILLNESS in Angel Central we are now looking to invigorate the space with a vibrancy of work that feels contemporary and engaging on a very different level. We are excited to present this collection of bold and inspiring work and bring a slice of summer to Islington.”

Maz says: The theme of Vibrancy in this exhibition comes through in so many ways  from bold, colourful works to portraits that suggest vibrant personalities. The diverse styles, mediums, and interpretations on display reflect the richness and vitality of our ArtCan community and I’m excited to show this energy at the ArtCan hub.

The exhibition space has been gifted to ArtCan through charity The Artist’s Window, which works to transform empty, redundant and depressing shop spaces into attractive, visible and interesting places with a purpose, where local people can enjoy and be inspired by art.

About ArtCan
ArtCan is an artist-led, non-profit arts organisation with members across Britain and internationally. ArtCan’s work is supported by the efforts of artist-member volunteers, contributions from Founder Friends and Friends of ArtCan and with the valued guidance of the Board of Trustees.

ArtCan has expertise in producing collaborative art exhibitions in London, across the UK and internationally. The exhibitions complement the work of established galleries by enabling talent to gain experience and skills. ArtCan work with galleries, but also seeks new spaces where art becomes a part of everyday life and with the aim of involving audiences in an organic and personal way.

Kate Enters

Kate Enters is a Hertfordshire based figurative painter who explores the aesthetic inspired by contemporary issues and images. Her paintings depict a recognisable snapshot of daily life, occasionally conveying a bittersweet moment.

There is often a social commentary running through her work but it is up to the audience to fill in the bigger picture or remember a personal experience that the visual she shares may evoke. Kate does not wish to dictate or manipulate a viewer’s perception of what she paints. It is a shared experience in that way.

Kate Enters is passionate about supporting artists and is the founder and director of ArtCan. She creates an annual exhibition programme at venues in the UK and overseas, honed through her background in events management for high-end art museums, celebrity charity events and arts PR. Over the last decade she has developed this community of artists and art supporters across 26 countries, built international corporate partnerships and during the pandemic worked with a designer to create a bespoke virtual art gallery.

ArtCan has been awarded Most Empowering Artist Opportunity Provider – UK for the past three years and is a member of Social Enterprise UK and the Global Climate Coalition.

Kate was a selector for the ING Discerning Eye exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London in 2022, featured on the Ministry of Arts podcast and in the Artists Responding To magazine. In 2023 Kate was awarded a Women Entrepreneur Award for the Arts, and was a 2024 finalist for the Great British Businesswomen of the Year in the Creative Category, and Great British Entrepreneur of the Year finalist in the Arts Category.

Kate works at the prize-winning London architecture practice, Stanton Williams. Prior to working at Stanton Williams Kate worked at Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios after a career in PR working with high profile clients and organisations that included the Serpentine Gallery, RADA, the Raisa Gorbachev Foundation and the V&A Museum.

Maz Weineck
Maz is an artist and maker that takes inspiration from the built environment. Maz has worked as an architectural modelmaker for over 10 years, now working for Stanton Williams. Alongside modelmaking they create artwork and take on commissions.

They use their experience and craft skills gained from this to explore architectural details, patterns and landscapes. Maz sees their job working in architecture and their art practice as interconnected as they can both inspire each other. As with architectural models Maz’s art work will have some aspect be 3D with the use of mixed materials creating something tactile. The main material used in their artworks is timber. Through using natural materials that have colour variance and pattern within them, the art can represent and celebrate how buildings age and change over time. They are particularly interested in the textural and historic juxtapositions of buildings found around London.

Maz aims to use their art and making to bring about positive change, either by selling some artworks to fundraise or by supporting artists that are raising awareness. They have now had 2 artworks auctioned for humanitarian architecture charity Article 25. Maz has volunteered for the organisation World Citizen Artists by creating the awards for their art competition with the theme of peace. Maz is an ArtCan artist member.
